I'd never tried an aftershave gel before and was pleasantly surprised. So much so, that I started wondering if some of my other scents came in a gel form. The gel is tactile to the touch and not like a balm. When applying to the face, it requires effort but spreads easily and evenly as it warms to your skin. This slowly dries over 4 minutes, being slightly tacky during which. However once dry it acts like a protective layer, enhancing the smoothness of the shave and helps to keep the fragrance for the whole day and well into the evening.
The fragrance has a rich deep classic touch to it, with the Sandalwood notes being backed up with lavender and citrus, unlike other creams which are just sandalwood. This gives for a wonderful scent and is a refreshing change from the norm.
I'd heard a lot about Taylor of Old Bond Street and they completely lived up to their name. This is a classic, quality shave and enhancings the morning ritual no end. The two products work really well together and I have no doubt they are going to become regulars on the shaving shelf.
